Structured Precision, Every Step
-
Phase 1 - Building The Foundation
Objective: Introduce trainees to agency operations, policies, equipment, patient care expectations, and the responsibilities associated with their position.
During this phase, trainees primarily observe their assigned FTO while becoming familiar with the organization's operational environment.
-
Phase 2 - Knowledge Into Action
Objective: Transition trainees from observation into active patient care while providing direct guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback.
During this phase, trainees begin performing assessments, communicating with patients, and participating in treatment decisions within their authorized scope of practice.
-
Phase 3 - Confidence Through Experience
Objective: Strengthen clinical judgment, technical proficiency, and operational independence while reducing reliance on direct FTO instruction.
At this stage, trainees should begin managing patient encounters with minimal prompting, while the FTO remains available to intervene whenever necessary.
-
Phase 4 - Taking The Lead
Objective: Evaluate the trainee's ability to function as the primary provider with minimal FTO intervention.
During this phase, the trainee assumes the lead role in patient care and operational responsibilities while remaining under direct FTO oversight.
-
Phase 5 - Ready To Answer
Objective: Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the trainee's readiness to function independently within their assigned role and authorized scope of practice.
This phase focuses on validating competency, consistency, professionalism, and operational readiness.
